Flu

Seasonal Flu

The seasonal flu refers to several common strains of flu virus that go around each year, mainly in fall and winter. A yearly shot (vaccine) can help prevent it.

How the Flu Spreads

Coughing and sneezing sprays droplets through the air and:
  • into the mouths or noses of people nearby
  • onto surfaces that people touch before touching their nose, mouth, or eyes.

Flu Prevention Steps:

  1. Wash your hands often and well – for at least 20 seconds
  2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
  3. Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer when soap and water aren’t available
  4. Cover coughs and sneezes – use a tissue
  5. GET A FLU SHOT
