The EAG assists Utah businesses in promoting and supporting economic opportunities in the state and provides services related to industry, education, community development, or infrastructure. Grant prioritization includes projects focused on developing Utah’s five targeted industries: Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace & Defense, Financial Services, Life Sciences & Healthcare, and Software & IT.

The Rural Employment Development Incentive (REDI) grant supports businesses that create new, high-paying jobs in rural Utah communities. Businesses can receive up to $6,000 per new full-time position created, with the total grant amount not exceeding $250,000 per year. Eligible jobs must pay at least 100% of the county’s average wage, exist for at least 12 consecutive months, and cannot be in construction, retail, staffing, or public utilities. Businesses must apply for approval from the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity before creating any new positions.
